Join the Executive Office for Administration and Finance as our IT Accessibility Director. As a key member of our team, you will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive digital accessibility and equity adoption program. This role is ideal for someone passionate about creating accessible digital solutions that enhance public service delivery.

About the Role

The IT Accessibility Director will partner with Chief IT Accessibility Officers and stakeholders from other secretariats to ensure cohesive implementation of accessibility strategies. You will embed accessibility and equity requirements into software development processes, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are actively engaged in meeting accessibility standards. Additionally, you will collaborate with legal and procurement teams to integrate accessibility requirements into contracts and vendor relationships, ensuring compliance and accountability throughout all engagements.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and execution of a Secretariat-wide digital accessibility and equity adoption program.
  • Partner with Chief IT Accessibility Officers and stakeholders to ensure cohesive implementation of accessibility strategies.
  • Embed accessibility and equity requirements into software development processes.
  • Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to integrate accessibility requirements into contracts and vendor relationships.
About You

We are seeking a highly experienced individual with 7-10 years of experience in a senior-level accessibility role, including management experience. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and understanding of state and national accessibility laws and standards for digital resources, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) requirements. A proven ability to influence leadership and stakeholders on the importance of digital accessibility is essential.
