INSA is an Equal Opportunity Employer, ensuring that all qualified candidates receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.

Role Overview

In alignment with national preparedness directives, it is imperative for the nation to sustain a readiness level for a comprehensive range of hazards and threats. National preparedness necessitates initiatives across five mission areas: prevention, protection, response, recovery, and mitigation. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is tasked with developing and maintaining capabilities to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate all hazards.

The CBRN Office within FEMA's Response Directorate is committed to strategizing, preparing, and enhancing capabilities essential for addressing CBRN threats or incidents. This analysis aims to conduct a thorough evaluation of the CBRN enterprise within the Office of Response and Recovery (ORR) and assess how these initiatives contribute to FEMA's statutory obligations and the preservation of its core operational capabilities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and analyses of significant policy matters and nuclear security incidents, advocating for FEMA/CBRN interests.
  • Perform CBRN research and analysis.
  • Provide support for CBRN policy and doctrine.
  • Engage in special projects.
  • Offer policy assistance to the Federal Radiological Preparedness Coordinating Committee (FRPCC).
  • Support planning for Chemical, Biological, Radiological/Nuclear Program Plans.
  • Deliver specialized technical assistance and operational support.
  • Facilitate CBRN training and exercise support.
  • Assist with the Interagency Modeling Atmospheric and Assessment Center (IMAAC) Program.
  • Support the Nuclear Incident Response Team (NIRT) Program.
  • Provide regional coordinator assistance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of pertinent work experience; two (2) years of related experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
  • Prior experience supporting or collaborating with DHS FEMA on CBRN matters is highly preferred.
  • TS/SCI Security clearance is mandatory.

Additional Information:

This position is contingent upon the ability to successfully pass and maintain DHS Suitability.

INSA provides a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, extensive health coverage including dental and vision, company-paid life and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with company matching, and an educational reimbursement program.

All information will be kept confidential in accordance with EEO guidelines.
