Position Summary: As an Aquatic Safety Educator, you will play a crucial role in promoting water safety and facilitating swimming lessons for individuals of all ages and skill levels. Your responsibilities will include assisting the lead instructor in demonstrating swimming techniques and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the health and safety of all program participants.
  • Assist in the supervision of lifeguards to maintain proper safety protocols during swim classes.
  • Support the teaching of swimming lessons in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Evaluate class abilities and provide feedback to the lead instructor regarding participant progress.
  • Foster positive relationships with participants and their families, offering constructive feedback and encouragement.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and assist in the completion of participant report cards.
  • Render first aid as necessary in case of minor injuries.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Current certification as an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor or equivalent.
  • Valid Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or willingness to obtain within the first six months of employment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in an aquatics setting or teaching environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse age groups.
  • Enthusiasm for teaching water skills and promoting safety.
