Job Summary

The Family Partner is a vital member of our team at Texana Center, responsible for promoting and developing the skills of families with children who have emotional, behavioral, or mental health disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist parents/caregivers in becoming advocates for their children
  • Provide guidance on utilizing existing services and developing natural resources within the family and community
  • Engage families in the recovery process and provide ongoing training to sustain success and improve outcomes
  • Develop and implement recovery plans with strengths, needs, skills, supports, and resources
  • Document all interactions and progress in accordance with established standards and performance benchmarks
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certified Family Partner at hire or within 6 months of hire
  • Texas driver's license in good standing
  • Parent of a child who has received services from a child-serving agency for mental health-related issues
  • Successful navigation of a child-serving system for 2 years and ability to articulate lived experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Family Partner
  • Previous experience providing peer support in a mental health or substance abuse setting
  • Spanish speaking
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform SAMA and CPR
  • Ability to perform moderate lifting and carrying, pushing, stooping, repeated bending, reaching above shoulder, simple grasping, hearing, walking, sitting, and twisting
