Aircraft Mechanic I plays a vital role in ensuring the airworthiness of aircraft by performing inspections, diagnosing issues, and repairing systems, structures, and components. This position requires a strong understanding of technical publications and guidance, as well as experience with aircraft and equipment logs and records. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal and/or structural modifications and repair, as well as experience with unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, and micrometers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections and repairs on aircraft systems, structures, and components
  • Diagnose issues and determine the feasibility of maintaining and repairing malfunctioning systems
  • Use technical publications and guidance to inform maintenance and repair decisions
  • Clean aircraft parts and assemblies with solvents or other cleaning solutions
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience with aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of parts
  • Demonstrated use of technical publications and guidance
  • Demonstrated experience with aircraft and equipment logs and records
  • Education requirement: High School Diploma or GED required
  • Top Secret Security Clearance Required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • S-92, VH-92A, VH-3D, and VH-60N experience preferred
