Burger King General Manager Job Description

The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of a single Burger King restaurant, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring guest satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate the restaurant efficiently, promoting friendly service and high-quality food.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized restaurant environment.
  • Develop and execute action plans to improve customer relations and satisfaction.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire hourly team members, ensuring compliance with I-9 Form regulations.
  • Properly train and develop team members, ensuring they meet production standards and control food costs.
  • Monitor product inventory, planning stock rotation, and maintaining storage facilities.
  • Purchase and receive items, checking invoices for accuracy.
  • Process administrative forms, invoices, and paperwork as instructed by the District Manager.
  • Manage labor costs, scheduling, and employee assignments.
  • Understand and apply P&Ls to effectively run operations.
  • Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs for equipment, property, and premises.
  • Maintain security and follow security policy guidelines.
  • Carry out operational procedures as outlined in the Manual of Operations, Employee Handbook, and training manuals.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and participating in company goals.
  • Ensure employees follow cash procedures and maintain required computer and operating reports.
  • Complete shift-change procedures and be proficient in all team member positions.
  • Perform timely and accurate performance reviews and follow Company policies when counseling, documenting, or discharging employees.
  • Maintain established speed of service standards and ensure employees comply with uniform and personal appearance requirements.
  • Forecast sales and product production and labor needs.
  • Ensure employees comply with all Company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Has an automobile with required insurance coverage.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Complete all internal certification programs.
  • 1-2 years of restaurant management experience.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Physical Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently bending, stooping, and kneeling. This position is very active, requiring occasional crawling and climbing. Ability to lift/move 50 pounds. Regular exposure to video terminal display. Travel in personal vehicle leading to exposure to all driving conditions and hazards. Frequent standing for long periods of time. Ability to talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear and have the ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. Vision abilities of close vision, distance vision, and adjust focus. Ability to frequently taste or smell. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level is usually loud.
