About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Software Engineering - Platform Development to lead and inspire a team of talented software engineers at Centerfield. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in driving innovation and ensuring the success of our platform initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of software engineers.
    • Define and execute the platform development roadmap, aligning with overall business objectives.
    • Ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of the platform.
    • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Team Management:
    • Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing team of software engineers.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
    • Provide mentorship and coaching to team members.
    • Manage team performance and address any challenges.
  • Platform Development:
    • Design, architect, and implement scalable and resilient platform components.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate platform solutions.
    • Optimize platform performance and ensure high availability.
    • Drive innovation and continuous improvement of the platform.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership, product management, and engineering teams.
    • Manage expectations and deliver on commitments.
    • Collaborate with other teams to ensure alignment and integration.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling high-performance platforms.
  • Strong technical skills in programming languages, data structures, algorithms, and software architecture.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Experience with marketing technology.
  • Experience with voice technology.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence.
