About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to join our team as a Fitness and Sports Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to work with children and adults in a fast-paced environment, promoting healthy lifestyles and physical activity.

Job Summary

This role will involve coordinating and leading various fitness and sports programs for youth and adults, including setup, execution, and supervision of activities. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and possess a strong passion for fitness and sports development.

Responsibilities
  • Program Coordination: Assist in the planning, organization, and delivery of fitness and sports programs for children and adults, ensuring high-quality services that meet YMCA standards.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Lead and supervise program participants, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure their safety and enjoyment.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, parents, and caregivers to promote the benefits of fitness and sports, and to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the program.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: 1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Within 3 months of hire, completion of CPR, First Aid, AED for infant, child, and adult, Bloodborne Pathogens, and Illinois Harassment training.
  • Skillset: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong passion for fitness and sports development, and ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
