Key Responsibilities- Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and diagnostic studies
- Review patient charts, obtain vital signs, and record patient information
- Prepare patients for examination, including taking them to examination rooms and assisting with procedures
- Operate and monitor medical equipment, including EKG machines and blood pressure monitors
- Administer medications, perform venipuncture, and collect lab specimens
- Recognize emergency situations and seek assistance as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduation from a Medical Assistant program or certification by a recognized medical association
- Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification
- 6 months of medical assistant experience or completion of a medical assistant externship
