Job Summary

The Interventional Radiology Technologist plays a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions. Under the supervision of a Radiologist, this professional performs interventional radiology procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients, adhering to established protocols and ensuring high-quality imaging results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality IR procedures, following established protocols and maintaining production and quality of imaging procedures.
  • Utilize AIDET when communicating with patients, ensuring correct exam is performed on the correct patient and establishing rapport with patients and others.
  • Prepare patients and areas for procedures, positioning patients, adjusting immobilization devices, and moving equipment into specified positions.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug, and radiation policies, protocols, and techniques.
  • Maintain equipment and work areas to meet quality and cleanliness standards, working with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment.
Requirements
  • ARRT-R Radiography certification is required.
  • Must be certified in one of the following within two years of hire date: ARRT Cardiac Interventional Radiography (ARRT-CI), ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (ARRT-CV), or ARRT Interventional Radiography (ARRT-VI).
