Job Title: Service Associate

At VG's Grocery, we strive to deliver exceptional customer experiences through our team members' dedication and hard work. As a Service Associate, you will play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive top-notch service and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Bag groceries and provide carry-out service to vehicles for customers, ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout process.
  • Retrieve carts from the parking area, empty bottle bins, and clean bottle machines and return areas, maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of store products and be able to assist customers with their queries.
  • Handle spoiled or damaged products according to established guidelines, ensuring food safety and quality.
  • Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department, adhering to company standards.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Perform cleaning duties and other assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to company expectations.
  • Follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines, Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations, and Guest Experience Guidelines.
  • May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma (GED) preferred.
  • Good oral communication skills and ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.

The physical demands of this role include standing and walking for extended periods, lifting and moving up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The associate is also required to bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is subject to a typical retail store environment and is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
