Job Overview

Marrakech, a leading organization in the field of human services, is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Day Program Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing direct care to individuals with developmental and physical disabilities in our Day Program.

About the Role

This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our clients. As a Day Program Instructor, you will be responsible for implementing behavior programs, habilitation, and vocational programs, as well as promoting community integration and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals in daily activities, including daily hygiene functions.
  • Implement behavioral goals, teaching strategies, monitoring procedures, exercise programs, and other recommended programs and procedures.
  • Assist in completing individual assessments.
  • Supervise and assist in preparing food for individuals following special prescribed diets and food consistency.
  • Provide active treatment to individuals.
  • Model positive adult roles in the community.
  • Foster community belonging through person-centered appropriate activities.
  • Provide meaningful community experiences to individuals.
  • Maintain specified levels of supervision of individuals in the community.
  • Document case notes, communication logs, programs, incident reports, abuse and neglect reports, safety reports, fire drills, time sheets, mileage forms, and other required documentation timely and accurately.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 3-6 months of related experience and/or training, or a human service training certificate.
  • Experience using basic computer programs.
  • A valid Connecticut Driver's License.
  • The ability to obtain Department of Developmental Services - Medication Certification, Public Service License, CPR and First Aid certification, and PMT certification.
