The School of Korean at Middlebury College is excited to announce openings for temporary Instructors of Korean. These roles will be available during a summer session, providing a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in a vibrant educational environment.
This intensive program offers an 8-week curriculum that emphasizes cultural immersion alongside rigorous daily instruction. Instructors will engage in teaching, dining, and recreational activities with students, fostering an environment where the Korean language is the primary mode of communication.
We seek candidates who possess:
- Experience in teaching Korean as a second language within a proficiency-oriented framework.
- Background in delivering instruction in an intensive Korean language program.
- Preferred ability to teach interdisciplinary cultural modules, such as music, poetry, arts, calligraphy, dance, or sports.
The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. (or be ABD) or a Doctorate of Modern Language, along with strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record of collaboration within an instructional team. A creative, adaptable, and open-minded approach to teaching will be highly valued.
In addition to competitive compensation, lodging and a comprehensive meal plan will be provided throughout the summer session.
