Job Summary

FLASH Technology Group is seeking a highly skilled Web Services Engineer to play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our web servers. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining web server software, as well as monitoring and troubleshooting server performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Infrastructure Management: Install and configure web server software (e.g., Apache, Nginx, IIS) and related components, ensuring seamless integration with our cloud infrastructure.
  • Server Maintenance and Upgrades: Regularly update and patch web servers to ensure they are secure and performing optimally, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Performance Monitoring and Tuning:
    • Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability, leveraging monitoring tools and performance tuning techniques.
    • Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) by proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and potential issues.
  • Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to protect web servers from threats and vulnerabilities, adhering to organizational policies and industry standards.
  • Backup and Recovery: Manage backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability in case of server failure, ensuring business continuity.
  • Documentation and Collaboration: Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and policies, and work closely with development and IT teams to support web application deployments and ensure smooth operation.
  • User Support and Ticket Management: Provide support to users and developers for web server-related issues and inquiries, and manage and resolve support tickets in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring user satisfaction.
  • Customer Service and Communication: Provide excellent customer service by effectively communicating with users and stakeholders, addressing their concerns, and providing solutions, ensuring a positive user experience.
  • Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline server management tasks, improving efficiency and reducing manual errors.
  • Compliance and Governance:
    • Ensure that web server operations comply with organizational policies and industry standards, including DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency) standards and guidelines.
    • Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, ensuring a secure and reliable web infrastructure.
Requirements:
  • HS/GED and 19 years of experience, OR BS and 14 years of experience.
  • IAT Level 2 Certification.
Mandatory Skills:
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with monitoring tools and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Red Hat System Administrator (RHSA), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
