Wells Fargo is on the lookout for a Senior Cyber Security Research Lead. Our Cyber Security division aims to deliver top-tier cyber security risk management. We operate within a framework that encompasses policy, processes, operations, personnel, and technology to safeguard Wells Fargo's infrastructure, corporate data, and customer assets while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and laws.

The Enterprise Cyber Security team seeks a highly skilled cyber security expert to join the Offensive Security Research Team (Red Team). This role involves evaluating cloud-based systems for security vulnerabilities in configuration and implementation. Candidates should possess a comprehensive understanding of data storage, access, and management in cloud environments. This senior-level position is responsible for leading and executing security assessments from start to finish. Opportunities will arise for collaboration on assessments of critical cloud systems that support the daily operations of a large enterprise at scale. This role will report to the Offensive Security Research Team and will work closely with our defense partners in a collaborative capacity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead projects involving the research, analysis, design, testing, and implementation of advanced computer network security and protection technologies for company information and network systems.
  • Function as a professional ethical penetration tester, utilizing hacking tools to modify or create proof of concept exploits that replicate the techniques of sophisticated attackers.
  • Review and analyze complex advanced computer security incident response activities and technical investigations related to information security incidents.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and assign severity ratings based on impact and exploitability.
  • Conduct security risk assessments to ensure compliance with corporate information security policies and adherence to best practices.
  • Communicate inherent risks to business units, providing meaningful mitigation strategies.
  • Provide leadership to principal engineers and support special projects.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve objectives.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Cyber Security Research, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, and education.
  • 3+ years of experience in Cloud Security (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile and SecDevOps methodologies.
  • 2+ years of experience in Application Security.
Desired Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in Cyber Threat Intelligence.
  • 2+ years of experience in Mainframe Security.
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule.
