Job Title: 24 hour Night Shift Patient Care Associate- Spinal Cord Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Associate to join our team at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Boston. As a valued member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Registered Nurses with clinical support functions to promote a safe and compassionate patient care environment.
  • Provide patient physical care such as bed baths, toileting, grooming, and changing bed linens, adhering to established guidelines.
  • Perform patient monitoring activities like vital signs and blood glucose checks, following established protocols.
  • Prepare patients for meals and assist with feeding when necessary to meet their needs.
  • Routine patient rounds and prompt response to call lights ensure timely attention to patients' requirements.
  • Accurately document patient care in accordance with established standards and timelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized patient room to promote a healthy environment.
  • Collect and label specimens consistently with established procedures.
  • Mentor and educate new nursing assistants to meet performance expectations.
  • Participate in additional departmental, organizational, or network activities aligned with established objectives.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required unless you hold a Nursing Assistant certification.
  • Recent experience and/or training in clinical patient care is essential.
  • Preferred qualifications include enrollment in a Nursing, Pre-Med, or Physician Assistant undergraduate program, completion of patient care rotations, or possession of a valid license, certification, or enrollment in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT-accredited program.

Physical Demands:

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with varying levels of physical activity. You should be able to stand for long periods, walk frequently, sit occasionally, use fine motor skills, move objects, reach with hands, climb stairs, operate equipment, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, speak, hear, taste, smell, and touch.

Vision Requirements:

The ability to see closely, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjust focus is essential for this role.

Salary: $30,000 - $40,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

Location: Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Boston, MA-Charlestown-SRH Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital Boston, 300 1st Avenue, Charlestown, 02129.

Schedule: Part-time, 24 hours/week, night shift.
