About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Product Manager-Technical to join our Last Mile Routing and Planning team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for owning and delivering the next generation containerization and routing framework for Amazon Logistics.

The Team

Our team is at the heart of Amazon's growing logistics network, and we are constantly looking for ways to improve and innovate our vehicle routing software and tools. We have a strong team with a wide-open space for improvement and innovation, and we are looking for someone who can think big, leverage high judgment and gut instinct, and always obsess over customers.

The Role

You will be responsible for building a cohesive long-term product vision and strategy, leading a high-performing team of Senior and Principal PMTs, and defining new products and driving alignment across multiple business and technical stakeholder teams. You will also scope large projects, manage project timelines, and communicate to senior leadership on status, risks, and process/product changes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Build a cohesive long-term product vision and strategy across a product or suite of products.
  2. Lead a high-performing team of Senior and Principal PMTs to envision ideas to transform the space and execute against them.
  3. Build scalable mechanisms to ingrain product thinking into not only product folks but into the broader set of stakeholders across the organization.
  4. Define new products and drive alignment across multiple business and technical stakeholder teams.
  5. Scope large projects, manage project timelines, and communicate to senior leadership on status, risks, and process/product changes.
  6. Create long-term product vision, influence partner teams towards that vision, and determine and build business metrics to help prioritize and drive execution towards the vision.
  7. Collect business and systems requirements from internal and external customers, write specifications, work with software teams to produce project schedules from design to release, and manage the production launch.
  8. Lead and coordinate design & implementation efforts between internal and external tech and business teams to develop optimal planning solutions.
  9. Work with multiple teams to build software that integrates multiple heterogeneous data sources into elegant software platforms to help us build efficient, flexible, and scalable solutions.
  10. Use this intelligence to expose trends and drive decisions for our stakeholders.
  11. Work with business owners to validate assumptions and ask questions to fill in knowledge gaps to ensure that the correct systems are built.
  12. Engage with all types of customers ranging from executives to developers.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition.
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product.
  • Experience technical product management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements.
  • Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement.
