Position Summary

In this full-time role, you will serve as a clinical physician leader under the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of clinical and administrative tasks. You will provide comprehensive care to residents in facilities and home-bound patients, while exemplifying ethical and evidence-based practices that align with the company's mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality geriatric and complex care to patients across various settings, collaborating with non-physician practitioners and interprofessional teams.
  • Maintain strong engagement with facility leadership, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, patients, and their families.
  • Oversee and support an average of 5 to 15 nurse practitioners and physician assistants in their clinical duties.
  • Conduct audits of up to 10% of medical orders and documentation for each provider monthly, adhering to state and regional regulations.
  • Assume medical directorships for skilled and senior living facilities as necessary.
  • Identify and explore new growth opportunities within skilled and senior living facilities in the region.
  • Participate in the company’s call processes to ensure timely responses to acute changes in patient conditions.
  • Focus on achieving quality outcomes, including care path compliance, prevention of avoidable transfers, and management of polypharmacy.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions and meetings as required by the CMO or other leadership to ensure optimal care delivery.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from an accredited medical school with a Doctor of Medicine degree.
  • A minimum of two years of administrative leadership experience in the healthcare sector.
  • Preferred clinical experience of seven years or more.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatrics; Geriatrics qualification preferred.
  • Current medical license in the state of employment.
  • Active Drug Enforcement Administration registration.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Effective communication skills with patients and healthcare staff.
  • Compassionate approach to patient care and family interactions.
  • Ability to work with patients requiring special attention over extended periods.
  • Patience in dealing with patients, including children and adults, who may fear medical treatment.
  • Proficient in computer and electronic record-keeping.
  • Strong organizational and management capabilities.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
