Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Community Action Organization of Western New York Inc is seeking a dedicated individual to assist in educational and supportive roles within our early childhood programs. This position offers a starting salary of 15.00 USD Hourly Onwards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Teacher III and IV in executing educational and non-educational tasks.
  • Prepare classroom environments and materials for effective learning.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom, equipment, and resources.
  • Assist in meal service and engage with children during mealtime.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to children, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Collaborate closely with the Teacher III or IV to implement educational programs.
  • Encourage parental involvement through guidance and support in classroom activities.
  • Welcome children and parents upon arrival and facilitate safe transitions to and from transportation.
  • Participate in meal times, offering supervision and assistance as needed.
  • Contribute to related tasks as assigned to support the agency's mission of serving children and families.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

In the Early Head Start program, serve as a substitute for educational staff during breaks, planning sessions, and absences, while fulfilling related responsibilities to support children and families.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED. Successful performance in this role requires the ability to meet essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Access to reliable transportation is necessary for site visits throughout the designated area. Preference will be given to local residents.
