Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Education Assistant to join our team at The Community Action Organization of Western New York Inc. The successful candidate will assist Teachers III and IV with educational and non-educational functions, working closely with children and parents to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing classrooms and materials for lessons
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
  • Support with mealtime supervision and nutrition supplements
  • Provide guidance and supervision to children during activities
  • Assist with clean-up and other tasks as required
  • Work closely with Teachers III and IV to develop and implement educational programs
  • Model positive work ethic and provide guidance to parents and staff
  • Assist with mealtime supervision and nutrition supplements
  • Perform related work as required to support the agency's services to children and families

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work in a variety of settings, including classrooms and administrative offices. The successful candidate will be required to work closely with children, parents, and staff, and will be expected to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
