In this role, you will deliver flight, simulator, and ground instruction in alignment with 14CFR Part 61, Federal Aviation Regulations, and other relevant guidelines. Your responsibilities will include scheduling students, maintaining comprehensive records, and ensuring that each student meets the necessary standards and objectives throughout their training.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct flight instructor duties as permitted by Federal Aviation Regulations, adhering to the current Training Course Outline.
  • Perform Stage Checks and proficiency evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate records of student training progress.
  • Ensure that all students are familiar with and adhere to the Safety Program.
  • Manage the training schedules for all assigned students.
  • Participate in instructor and student meetings as required.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 200 hours of total flight time.
  • Possession of an FAA Certificated Flight Instructor credential.
  • At least 500 hours of instruction provided and two full semesters at Southern Utah University.
  • Current FAA Class I or Class II Medical Certificate.
  • Proficient piloting skills, including the ability to execute required flight maneuvers and procedures.
  • Understanding of effective instructional techniques applicable in both classroom and flight settings.
  • Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations and related operational procedures.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a dynamic and noisy environment while exercising sound judgment.
  • Strong customer service skills, maintaining an 80% pass rate for final reviews and stage checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience flying in Bravo Airspace.
  • Experience with density altitude flying above 5,000 feet.
