Job Summary

As a Medical Billing Associate at Texas Tech University, you will play a critical role in maintaining patient billing accounts and performing various related functions to ensure accurate and timely billing. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient billing accounts
  • Perform financial screening of unfunded patients
  • Answer patient billing inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Collect unpaid balances and post payments in the Regional Campus Business Office
  • Work with insurance companies to resolve denied claims and appeals
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional experience in a clinic or physician's office
  • Experience working with Practice Management Systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical EOBs
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of medical or general office experience
