The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Missouri School of Medicine is actively seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Advanced Gastroenterologist dedicated to clinical excellence and passionate about contributing to the education of our fellows. Qualified candidates may also be considered for an additional role as an Associate Program Director for the GI Fellowship.

Compensation and Benefits

We provide a competitive compensation package, with a base salary starting at $525K, complemented by a productivity incentive and various hiring incentives.

About Our Division

The Gastroenterology division comprises faculty with specialized knowledge in numerous areas, including nutrition, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and therapeutic endoscopy. Our multidisciplinary approach addresses a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders in collaboration with various specialties and subspecialties, such as surgery, radiology, pathology, oncology, and surgical oncology.

Essential Qualifications

  • MD/DO degree
  • ABIM Board Eligible/Certified in Internal Medicine
  • ABIM Board Eligible/Certified in Gastroenterology
  • Completion of an Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, an unencumbered Missouri medical license

Educational Program Overview

The ACGME-accredited gastroenterology fellowship program, which hosts 11 fellows, has a longstanding tradition of producing exceptional gastroenterologists. Our graduates thrive in both private practice and academic settings nationwide. The program is designed to cultivate clinical proficiency across the gastroenterology spectrum, including hepatology, endoscopy, clinical nutrition, and GI oncology. In alignment with ACGME standards, a minimum of 18 months of clinical experience is mandated, which includes 5 months focused on hepatology. The remaining 18 months are dedicated to elective clinical training and research aimed at enhancing competency.

Additionally, the division has expanded to include an advanced therapeutic endoscopy fellowship and is planning to broaden the clinical endoscopy service line.
