MyMichigan Health is seeking a highly skilled Infection Prevention Registered Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our infection prevention program, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to protect patients, employees, and the community from healthcare-associated infections.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement infection prevention programs across MyMichigan Health to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Chair the Infection Prevention Committee and lead ongoing evaluation of established goals and priorities.
- Coordinate surveillance of healthcare-associated infections through medical record reviews, culture reviews, and internal and external reports.
- Maintain knowledge of infection prevention alerts and best practice recommendations at national, state, and regional levels.
- Develop and maintain system infection prevention programs, policies, procedures, and plans to meet state, federal, and accrediting agency standards.
- Certified Infection Control (CIC) certification required within 3 years of hire or transfer.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
- Associate's degree in Nursing.
- Two years of well-rounded clinical experience and the ability to understand the physiological relationship of a disease process to infection prevention measures.
- Interpersonal skills to communicate successfully with individuals and groups.
The Infection Prevention Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with employees at all levels within the medical center. The ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, and work independently is essential. Regular and predictable attendance is required.
