About the Role

James Madison University is seeking a highly skilled Associate Athletics Trainer to join our Sports Medicine team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch athletic training services to our student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Mentor Assistant Athletic Trainers
    • Provide regular check-ins, guidance, and problem-solving support to ensure the success of our assistant trainers.
    • Conduct yearly performance evaluations and goal setting to promote growth and development.
  • Facilitate Day-to-Day Operations of the Godwin Athletic Training Facility
    • Manage the facility's day-to-day operations, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for our student-athletes.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Integrated Health and Sports Performance to develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Assist with Pre-Participation Physical Exams
    • Organize and manage the scheduling of pre-participation physical exams for over 500 athletes across 18 teams.
    • Coordinate with physicians and other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive care for our student-athletes.
  • Liaise with the JMU Athletic Training Education Program
    • Develop and maintain relationships with the program's faculty and staff to ensure seamless integration of our student-athletes.
    • Assist with student placement and programming to promote their growth and development.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Integrated Health and Sports Performance to support the success of our team.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree
  • Current Employee of the JMU Sports Medicine Team
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • 3+ Years of Relevant Clinical Experience
  • Positive Attitude and Willingness to Grow
