Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Meat Service Associate to join our team at Hy-Vee. As a key member of our Meat Department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and ensuring the highest quality products are available to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist customers in finding products, loading/unloading heavy items, and making note of customer suggestions or requests.
  • Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
  • Wrap, weigh, and label product, and review the status and appearance of the food for freshness.
  • Stock cases, rotate product, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience, food safety training.
  • Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
  • Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
Working Conditions

This position is continually exposed to a cool environment and dampness. There is frequent noise from the saws, exposure to cleaning solvents, and possibility of electrical shock.
