Mammography Technologist

To operate mammographic equipment to take x-ray exposures of patients as requested by referring physicians.
Key Responsibilities:- Greet patients and explain the mammographic procedure to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience.
- Review patients' medical history prior to performing the mammographic procedure and confirm that they have signed a contrast media consent form if necessary.
- Take x-ray exposures of patients following the established protocol for intensity of radiation and time of exposure.
- Process film and inspect images to confirm that they meet the requirements of the radiologist.
- Maintain equipment and examination rooms, store film, and manage related supplies.
- Prepare patient files with essential information such as patient name, date of x-ray, referring physician, and number of exposures.
- Prepare and submit reports as required by state and federal regulations.
- Perform other related duties as directed.
- Experience: Minimum one year of experience as a Mammography Technologist, including on-the-job training and internships, or registry-eligible ARRT advanced certification in Mammography (must be obtained within six months of hire) with a minimum of one year of recent experience as a Radiological technologist with ARRT.
- Education: Specialized training in mammographic technology is required.
- License, Certification, Registration: Radiologic Technologist Certification, Basic Life Support, and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Mammography Technologist.
- Certification as a mammographic technologist with the ARRT is preferred.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) education is preferred.
