About the Job

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the University of California, Merced as an Executive Sous Chef - Food Service Operations Manager. As a seasoned food service professional, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction in our dining facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution: Develop and implement menus that meet financial goals and exceed customer expectations.
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Staff Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to food service staff on food handling, preparation, and presentation techniques.
  • Financial Management: Manage budgets, inventory, and procurement to ensure efficient and effective food service operations.
  • Customer Service: Ensure that all customers receive exceptional service and that their needs are met in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as culinary arts or hospitality management.
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in food service management, with a focus on quality assurance and customer service.
  • Certifications: Serve Safe Certification or equivalent, and CCC certification with the American Culinary Federation (ACF).
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
