Job SummaryWe're seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Mechanical Design group, you'll play a critical role in designing and executing our products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability.
Responsibilities- Design and develop high-quality, manufacturable products that meet customer requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution from architecture to mass production.
- Develop and refine solutions to complex engineering challenges, leveraging your expertise in design for manufacturing, cost, and assembly.
- Interface with global suppliers to efficiently execute designs into mass production.
- Identify design opportunities for quality, cost, assembly, and manufacturing, driving continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain production tooling, ensuring efficient and high-quality production processes.
- Conduct root cause and failure analysis on parts and products, driving corrective actions to prevent future issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of industry experience in an engineering role, with 3 years in cable harness or interconnect design.
- Strong understanding of cable/connector tests, metallurgy, solid mechanics, and material selection.
- Experience with standards and regulations, including USCAR, IEC, and IPC.
- Ability to optimize complex electrical harness wire designs, drawings, and schematics.
- Strong working knowledge of injection molding, CNC machining, and mass production processes.
- Self-starter with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Design experience in high power system and interconnect design (up to 1kV & up to 500A).
- Ruggedized outdoor electro-mechanical products (IP protection).
- Strong background in failure analysis and root cause investigations.
- Material selection for functional and regulatory requirements.

What We OfferChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The targeted US salary range for this role is $70,000 to $158,805, representing base salary and not reflecting equity, benefits, or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and specific work location.
