Position Overview:
As a vital member of our team, the retail cash handling associate plays a crucial role in shaping the customer experience at Moana Nursery. This position is responsible for efficiently processing sales transactions, managing future orders, and handling returns while actively engaging with customers. The associate will assist both in-person shoppers and those reaching out via phone, ensuring that every customer receives the support they need to find the right products and solutions. Additionally, this role involves welcoming customers upon their arrival and expressing gratitude for their business as they depart.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to Moana Nursery's safety protocols
  • Arrive punctually and prepared for work
  • Greet customers warmly
  • Communicate effectively with customers over the phone
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and requests for assistance
  • Utilize radios to coordinate with fellow team members
  • Employ a computerized Point of Sale System to accurately process customer purchases
  • Handle payments and provide change
  • Maintain an organized cash drawer
  • Guide customers through the store to locate desired items
  • Keep the workspace clean and orderly
  • Participate in store-wide cleaning and organization efforts
  • Commit to continuous learning
  • Address questions regarding pricing, promotions, services, and programs
  • Deliver exceptional customer service
  • Express appreciation to customers after each visit

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to work outdoors for prolonged durations

Qualifications:

  • No prior experience required; a positive attitude and eagerness to learn are essential

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience in a cashier role
  • Interest or knowledge in horticulture

Work Schedule:
Our retail locations operate seven days a week, with peak activity occurring on weekends. We seek team members who are available to work weekends and can adapt to the dynamic nature of retail. Unlike many retail establishments, we close early in the evening, making late shifts uncommon. Please indicate your availability when applying.

Compensation & Benefits:
