Mammography Technologist

Ochsner Health is seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of breast imaging technology.

• Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Operate radiology information systems to facilitate patient care and optimize imaging procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients to ensure their understanding of procedures and protocols.
• Independently operate imaging equipment to complete procedures according to established protocols.
• Review patient images to ensure diagnostic quality standards are met.
• Participate in quality control procedures and implement remediation as needed.
• Assist in departmental operations, including inventory management, staff scheduling, and equipment maintenance.

• Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or eligible for registration within 90 days of employment.
• Current unrestricted license in the state of practice.
• Advanced certification in mammography within one year of hire/transfer.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

• Mammography experience.

This role requires working in a patient care area, interacting with patients, and potentially being exposed to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent must be able to adapt to the specific patient population and maintain a safe and respectful environment.
