STERIS is seeking a skilled Machinist I to join our team in a manufacturing environment. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating various types of machinery, including mills, lathes, and CNC machines, to produce high-quality parts and components.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain machinery, including mills, lathes, and CNC machines, to produce parts and components according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate production.
- Use precision measuring instruments and gauges to check and ensure parts meet dimensional requirements.
- Load work pieces manually or using assistance, and record production activities on computerized shop floor control systems.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure parts meet specifications and standards.
- Assist in the setup and operation of machinery, and perform routine maintenance tasks as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 year of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong math skills, proficiency in troubleshooting, and basic computer skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
