Role Summary: Senior Software Developer

Team Dynamics: We are in search of a skilled Data Engineer to enhance our expanding team of development specialists. The selected candidate will be tasked with improving and optimizing our data and data pipeline frameworks, alongside refining data flow and collection for various teams. The Data Engineer will assist our data division on data projects and will ensure that the data delivery architecture remains consistent across ongoing initiatives.

Candidate Impact: The ideal applicant possesses experience in gathering data across multiple formats and has a passion for parsing, transforming, and optimizing data systems, including building them from scratch. The right individual will be enthusiastic about the opportunity to enhance or even redesign our organization's data architecture to facilitate our next generation of products and data projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and sustain optimal data pipeline architecture.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process enhancements: automating manual tasks, improving data delivery, redesigning infrastructure for better scalability, etc.
  • Construct the necessary infrastructure for efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from diverse data sources into SQL Server, MongoDB, and other systems.
  • Create data tools for team members focused on data quality that aid in building and refining pipelines to improve workflows.
  • Establish processes that support data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.

Qualifications:

  • A candidate with 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering roles, holding a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proficient working knowledge of SQL Server and experience with relational databases, query authoring (SQL), as well as familiarity with various databases including NoSQL, Big Data, and custom formats.
  • Experience with Visual Studio, ASP.NET Frameworks, .NET Core, C#, SQL Server, NoSQL, Java, and Internet Information Services (IIS).
  • Experience with multi-threading in C# and ensuring data integrity in SQL Server.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis on both internal and external data and processes to address specific business inquiries and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Strong analytical skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a dynamic setting.

Compensation and Benefits: S&P Global indicates that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $125,000. The final base salary will be determined based on the individual's geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan and additional S&P Global benefits.

Work Eligibility: This role is limited to individuals with indefinite right to work in the United States.
