Operations Manager Job Description

ESPO Corporation is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, manage staff, and optimize processes in our fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet production deadlines and maintain production reporting accuracy.
  • Manage production inventory, labor records, and coordinate with production supervisors and operations teams.
  • Utilize the Epicor ERP system to schedule manufacturing orders and monitor production inventory levels.
  • Optimize production sequences, considering equipment availability, labor capacity, and material availability.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changing priorities or unforeseen event constraints or bottlenecks.
  • Communicate operational status to stakeholders and generate reports to provide insights into key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Supervise a staff of 6 manufacturing supervisors and production personnel.
  • Provide training and mentoring, and ensure company policies and safety rules are being followed.
  • Manage permanent and temporary workforce as production demand dictates.
Requirements:
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in operations management in mixed high and low-volume custom production environments.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, efficiency improvement techniques, and P&L standards.
  • Experience in metal fabrication and powder coating, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP software.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification and/or provable experience required.
