American Battery Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Software Development Engineer Co-op to join our team in Lake Orion, Michigan.

Job Summary The Software Development Engineer Co-op will focus on the development of the ABS internal data processing and analysis tool. Key responsibilities include optimizing the tool, adding functionality, improving the user interface, testing and controlling releases of new versions, and enabling ABS team members to more effectively process, analyze, and visualize data. Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with data and analytics experts to enhance the functionality of our data systems.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.
  • Maintain the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using 'big data' technologies.
  • Develop data tools for analytics and validation team members to assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.
  • Design and implement manual and automated test procedures to evaluate each software product.
  • Build, code, and implement software evaluation test programs.
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
  • Demonstrate predictable and reliable attendance.
Position Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Ability to work between 15-25 hours per week.
  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Fulfill 24 credit hours in one calendar year.
  • Self-motivated problem solver with attention to detail, a willingness to challenge the status quo, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to team growth by collaborating with cross-functional teams and completing projects in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to safety standards and protocols.
  • Co-op students may be eligible to work up to 4 years if enrolled in a college or university and meet the noted criteria.
