POSITION OVERVIEW
The LVN Charge Nurse is responsible for delivering nursing care within the defined scope of practice, ensuring that patient needs are addressed in alignment with established standards, physician directives, and regulatory guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in long-term care settings
- Familiarity with Point Click Care charting
- Valid LVN/LPN license in the state of practice
- Current BLS/CPR certification or a commitment to obtain one
- Prior experience in nursing leadership is advantageous but not mandatory
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee daily operations of nursing assistants, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards
- Ensure adherence to established policies and procedures by all nursing staff under your supervision
- Manage the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for residents as required
- Adhere to protocols for documentation and incident reporting
- Follow company guidelines for medication management, including narcotic inventory and pharmacy requests
- Record any changes in patient conditions, including but not limited to nutritional issues, infections, skin conditions, and weight fluctuations
- Utilize the Quality Life Manual for the assessment, placement, and monitoring of patients in suitable programs
- Communicate any changes regarding patient room assignments, leaves of absence, new admissions, or discharges to relevant departments
Conduct rounds with physicians as necessary.
