Job Overview

EIG Electrical Systems, a prominent entity within DPR Construction's Family of Companies, is in search of an experienced Electrical Construction Supervisor with a minimum of 5 years in commercial electrical project management. This role entails overseeing daily scheduling and field coordination across various project scopes, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, low voltage systems, and fire sprinkler installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist both pre-construction and project teams in evaluating trade partner proposals, timelines, and logistical plans.
  • Oversee the installation of systems such as electrical, HVAC, automation, plumbing, process piping, low voltage systems, and fire protection design/construction coordination.
  • Engage in the review of electrical-related shop drawings and submittals.
  • Contribute to the formulation of comprehensive commissioning plans for all electrical systems, detailing test requirements, necessary inspections, and factory start-up protocols.
  • Provide onsite construction support for MEP systems, ensuring effective start-up, balancing, commissioning, and validation certification, along with owner training and project closeout.
  • Develop and implement project-specific MEP quality and safety programs, including participation in safety cause mapping for post-MEP safety incidents.
  • Create and manage construction schedules, performing regular updates and monitoring interdependencies.
  • Coordinate jobsite logistics and maintain positive relationships with adjacent occupants.
  • Negotiate with regulatory authorities to meet project occupancy goals.
  • Lead initiatives for a safety-first work environment.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work scopes, scheduling, and resource allocation in alignment with DPR's self-perform work teams.
  • Encourage the professional growth of foremen to transition into future supervisory roles.
  • Act as the primary representative of DPR field operations, interfacing with owners and design teams.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a flexible, detail-oriented team player capable of managing multiple tasks while consistently delivering high-quality work within deadlines. The successful applicant will possess:

  • A solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction principles and relevant codes.
  • Experience collaborating with various stakeholders to address and resolve complex electrical design and construction challenges.
  • Proficiency in conducting complex meetings, documenting minutes promptly, and following up on deliverables.
  • A good grasp of fire/life safety and fire sprinkler systems and their integration with mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of the test and balance process and its requirements.
  • Familiarity with building automation systems and their sequences as they relate to MEP.
  • Awareness of electrical safety regulations.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of safety within a construction environment.
  • Proficiency in current virtual design and construction software is preferred.
  • Experience with CPM scheduling and lean pull planning processes, with knowledge of Primavera P6 being advantageous.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office suite and Bluebeam.
  • Comfort in a collaborative and open working environment.
  • Excellent listening, communication, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Capacity to create and nurture a positive team atmosphere.
  • 5+ years of experience as an MEP Supervisor, ideally within DPR's core markets.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.
