Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Nurse Intern to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Nurse Intern, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing direct patient care and developing your clinical skills under the supervision of experienced Registered Nurses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe and effective patient care, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to implement individualized care plans.
  • Assist with special tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent and documentation.
  • Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights, and document clinical findings.
  • Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients and families, adhering to hospital standards.
  • Participate in educational programs and workshops to enhance professional growth and development.
Requirements
  • Current enrollment as a nursing student at the University of New Mexico.
  • Completion of a Basic Nursing Skills Course at Nursing School.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
