Job Summary

The Food Runner position at Montage International is a dynamic role that requires a liaison between the kitchen and serving staff, conveying guest needs or issues. This position involves actively marketing the establishment through various social media outreach and staff outings, contributing to the organization as an active business partner that supports the company's goals, objectives, vision, mission, and values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consistently follow Food & Beverage sequence of service utilizing all proper procedures standardized by venue managers and chefs.
  • Participate in weekly marketing requirements and outings, actively marketing the venue and yourself, and encouraged to make weekly table reservations and build the venue database through networking and completing data cards and building and establishing personal clientele.
  • Command full knowledge of the menu and cooking preparations, able to deliver food to guests at table accurately, while identifying and describing each plate.
  • Assist in bussing tables or marking tables with appropriate silverware when necessary.
  • Clean all equipment, tools, and supplies, and maintain equipment in good working order while following all procedures and policies set forth by the company, division, department, and County health department.
  • Work as a team and effectively communicate with management, bartenders, and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other associates.
  • Always be positive, show enthusiasm, be humble, be thankful, and be respectful to all team members.
Requirements
  • 2-years' experience as a food runner in a similar restaurant environment.
  • Experience in and ability to meet marketing and social media requirements outlined by management using social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, etc., and an active participant in social media.
  • Must possess good attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent customer service skills and an in-depth knowledge of Spirits, Wine, and Food are required.
  • Ability to read and write in English proficiently as well as having basic math skills and the ability to use a calculator.
  • Must be 21 years of age and must possess Tips and Food Handlers cards.
Physical Requirements

Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks. Must be physically able to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment as well as delicate china and glassware. Up to 50 lbs. Also, you must be physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period of time. This position requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.

The pay scale for Food Runner is $16.50.
