Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10 PM - 6 AM

Compensation: $16 - $19 per hour

(Compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and relevant healthcare credentials.)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire proficiency in the responsibilities assigned to the Pre-Analytical Assistant I role, gaining insight into the interconnected functions of Technical Operations and Specimen Processing.
  • Identify and address issues related to specimen types and missing information, ensuring efficient sorting, racking, centrifuging, delivery, and storage of specimens.
  • Understand compliance policies associated with test ordering, developing the ability to research test order information using translation tables and computer systems.
  • Achieve quality and production benchmarks within six months of completing training.
  • Complete all necessary documentation clearly and legibly within designated timeframes.
  • Adhere to attendance guidelines and support departmental performance during coworker absences.
  • Expand knowledge of additional functions within Technical Operations and Specimen Processing to facilitate career advancement.

Work Environment and Requirements:

1. Manage multiple tasks in a production-oriented environment.

2. Communicate effectively with staff at all levels, both verbally and in writing.

3. Maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.

4. Exercise sound judgment when resolving issues.

5. Comply with safety, compliance, and operational policies and procedures.

6. Work in a biohazard environment, adhering to all safety regulations.

7. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following 5S standards.

8. Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

9. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to foster a positive work atmosphere.

10. Exhibit flexibility in work assignments and adapt to changes.

11. Must possess some flexibility regarding work hours.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED required.

2. Preferred medical background, including familiarity with clinical laboratory terminology.

3. Previous experience in a production setting is advantageous.

4. Familiarity with mainframe computers is preferred.
