Teaching Assistant Professor in Physiology

The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for two full-time Teaching Assistant Professors in Physiology. The positions are outside of the tenure stream and subject to annual review. We seek candidates with a PhD in biology or an applicable field and previous teaching experience. The successful candidates will teach courses in Anatomy and/or Physiology Lectures and Lab courses for Biology majors. Additional courses will be based on the expertise of the instructor and could include lecture or lab courses such as Genetics, Biochemistry, or Foundations of Biology. One of the positions will involve 50% remote teaching of Anatomy and/or Physiology lecture courses. We prefer candidates with documented success in teaching large undergraduate classes, teaching undergraduate lab courses, and using evidence-based teaching practices. For the position involving remote teaching, training or experience in remote teaching is preferred. Duties include teaching 2 to 3 courses or up to 4 sections of a single laboratory course per term; evening sections may be needed.
