Clinical Informatics Analyst II Job Description

Job Summary:

The Clinical Informatics Analyst II provides advanced-level support for multi-user clinical operating systems and applications, including MyChart and ambulatory systems. This role involves the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of clinical systems, translating end-user needs into optimized configurations and workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Support: Provide advanced-level support for clinical information systems, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades of software, hardware, and operating systems.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with system users, IT staff, other ITS groups, and vendor resources to resolve issues and optimize the functionality of clinical systems.
  • System Optimization: Assess current workflows and translate end-user needs into optimized configurations and builds of clinical applications to enhance efficiency and system performance.
  • Project Participation: Coordinate and participate in the planning, design, development, training, implementation, communication, maintenance, and evaluation of new and existing clinical system functionalities.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Participate in the development and execution of standardized testing methodologies for system functions before production changes.
  • Clinical Liaison: Serve as a liaison between clinical departments and IT, fostering strong partnerships to ensure clinical system issues are addressed effectively and efficiently.
  • Training and Documentation: Create and maintain training materials and documentation related to clinical system implementations and maintenance.
  • Quality Improvement: Contribute to the development and maintenance of a quality improvement program for clinical information systems.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed on healthcare industry regulations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Contribution: Identify and implement cost-effective practices to contribute to organizational financial goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Licensure/Certification: Certification in relevant clinical or IT fields, if applicable.
  • Education: Associate's Degree or Technical Degree.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of IT application or related operational experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensure/Certification: Certification in specific IT applications, such as MyChart or Epic.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate small projects.
  • Strong team-centric approach with creativity, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
