As an Advanced Practice Provider in Occupational Medicine, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our employees. Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Conducting pre-placement and periodic surveillance examinations on patients to assess their fitness for work.
  2. Evaluating employees with work-related injuries, illnesses, or exposures, and providing urgent care as needed.
  3. Developing and implementing treatment plans, including referrals to specialists and physical therapy, as necessary.
  4. Communicating effectively with patients, employers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  5. Providing routine procedures, such as foreign body removal, suturing, and wound care, as needed.
  6. Prescribing medication and ordering diagnostic tests as necessary.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • One to three years of patient care experience in ambulatory, emergency, orthopedics, or occupational medicine, or new graduates with a demonstrated interest in occupational health.
  • NRCME certification to perform commercial driver examinations, or willingness to obtain within three months.
  • Active PA certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), and Connecticut State Registered Nurse License, Connecticut State Nurse Practitioner License Board specialty certification, Connecticut State Physician Assistant License, and DEA License.
Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment, with frequent exposure to patients and employees. You will need to be able to lift, move, and position patients as necessary, and work in a variety of settings, including the Occupational Medicine office at Greenwich Hospital.
