Position Summary

The Precision Blanchard Grinder Specialist will be responsible for operating Blanchard Grinders ranging from 48" to 100". This role entails setting up and operating the machinery to grind flat surfaces, ensuring adherence to specified tolerances through the use of calipers and micrometers. The ideal candidate will be adept at interpreting blueprints to verify the dimensions of metal components, ensuring they meet customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate overhead and/or jib cranes as necessary.
  • Set up, adjust, and run rotary wheel Blanchard grinders.
  • Plan and execute operating procedures for flat grinding on rotary wheel machines.
  • Make necessary adjustments to calibrate machines for precise tolerances and finish requirements.
  • Utilize scales, micrometers, and indicators for setups, adjustments, and quality checks.
  • Work from part drawings, specifications, and grinding instructions.
  • Employ magnetic tables and chucks or clamps to secure workpieces, ensuring proper support to prevent distortion.
  • Select appropriate statistical tools to maintain process control and quality assurance.
  • Inspect and maintain the work area and machine fluid levels on a daily basis.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
