PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION


This role is situated within the Shop Services Department and entails executing precision machining tasks on both manual and CNC machinery to produce new or replacement components essential for power generation.

Additionally, this position supports the refurbishment of various power plant equipment, including pumps, fans, and turbine components.

The Shop team fosters a culture of continuous improvement through ongoing training and process enhancements while upholding stringent quality and safety standards.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manual Machining with a high degree of precision
Set up and execute maintenance machining operations using a variety of materials with

equipment such as:
Bridgeport milling machines.
Engine lathes – 3 and 4 jaw chucks
Surface grinders
Vertical boring mills
Vertical/Horizontal band saws,
CNC Machining with a high degree of precision
Machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting of machining processes using

equipment such as:
CNC Vertical Milling Centers – HAAS / Fanuc controls
CNC Lathes – Fanuc controls
CAD/CAM Programming – GibbsCAM

Technical Skills
Interpret and comprehend prints and assembly drawings
Geometric dimensioning / tolerancing
Shop mathematics for machinery setup and quality assurance checks.
Attention to detail and quality assurance

Conduct maintenance and repair tasks on plant

equipment such as:
Pumps, Gearboxes, Fans, Bearings, and Valves
Perform disassembly and inspection for part repair or replacement and reassembly.
Implement sound mechanical maintenance practices
Adhere to maintenance conduct, safety protocols, and established maintenance standards

Safely execute rigging and lifting operations, operate shop cranes and forklifts.

This role can be filled at Associate, Mid-level, or Senior level. Please see minimum qualifications list below for each level

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Level I

Associates Degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technology, or Electronics
OR
High School Diploma with a minimum of 12 months of trade or technical experience in Power Plant Technology or relevant field experience
OR
Relevant Vocational Technical High School diploma with 6 months of Shop Experience.

Successfully complete the training requirements and time in job requirements for the position including previously passing the necessary tests
Valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Ability to work in a power plant environment that includes climbing and walking long distances.

Exposure to heat with limited stay times, dust, smoke, dirt, high noise areas, confined and cramped workspaces, and a nuclear power plant environment including Radiation Dose Exposure.

Work at high elevations on ladders and scaffolds.
Work shifts or weekends as required.
Perform tasks inside radiological controlled areas.
Maintain qualifications in accordance with specific training programs.
Maintain Radiation Protection Qualification and training, including respirator qualifications as needed
Ability to obtain unescorted nuclear plant access
Basic computer skills
Good oral and written communication skills
This position may require travel within company nuclear and non-nuclear plant fleet.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Level II
