Job Summary:
Clear Path Utility Solutions, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior VM Work Competency Evaluator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing VM Work Competency Evaluations to ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI and utility line clearance standards of tree trimming personnel through field observations at PG&E's Oroville yard.

Our team specializes in utility vegetation management (UVM) program design & auditing, management of emergencies such as wildfires, hurricanes, & ice storms, providing onsite contract management of UVM programs, developing new integrated vegetation management programs (IVM) for utilities & municipalities, Registered Professional Forester services, environmental compliance inspections, and much more.

Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in arboriculture industry, one year in trainer or safety position, and five years performing work relevant to assessments. Additionally, they should have experience in utility line clearance, heavy equipment operating experience, and strong knowledge in technical discipline for which incumbent is providing assessments. The Senior VM Work Competency Evaluator will be responsible for:
  • Performing VM Work Competency Evaluations on a specific area of skill/knowledge including, but not limited to, any task(s) preformed within vegetation management work, and may involve chainsaw use, tree felling, climbing, & cutting aloft, limbing & bucking, and use of aerial lift.
  • Providing feedback and coaching in the area of work being evaluated. Ensuring the tree trimmers being evaluated understand your feedback and coaching through effective communication.
  • Sharing outcomes, observations, trends, gaps and issues with direct supervisor, the employee's supervisor and/or manager that contribute to the development and implementation of mitigating strategies as needed.
  • Addressing gaps and issues identified to improve personal and public safety while performing line clearance vegetation management work activities.
  • Ensuring that all PG&E assessment and qualification processes are followed, and that qualification records are maintained in compliance with qualification program requirements.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:
  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • Any technical or continued education in related field (forestry, utility vegetation management and/or logging).
  • A Valid driver's license.
  • CPR / First Aid.
Preferred qualifications include:
  • OSHA 30.
  • Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP) or Consulting Utility Forester Safety Professional (CUFSP).
  • Electric Hazard Awareness Program (EHAP).
The estimated salary for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
