The Maintenance Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance and support of equipment, facilities systems, and building and grounds at Vanicream Sensitive Skin Care. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the maintenance department and ensure that work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Administer on-site and vendor-managed spare part inventory programs to ensure facility and equipment operations.
- Schedule, perform, and/or supervise maintenance and project activities as required, including troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, waste management, and production machines, equipment, and systems.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, using blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
- Ensure accurate and timely utilization of equipment management modules in support of maintenance and related activities.
- Follow all company, regulatory, quality, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
- Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical testing devices.
- Select and coordinate work to be completed by contractors and skilled trades as needed.
- Respond to emergency requests.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience working in industrial maintenance, with 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
- Experience working in a regulated or FDA cGMP environment is preferred.
- Prior experience with practical application of Lean or other continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
- Mathematical skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to install new equipment.
- Language skills: must be able to read, record, and speak the English language, interpret documents such as directions, instructions, safety rules, checklists, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in the English language.
- Reasoning ability: must have the ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
- Computer competency: experience with equipment management/preventive maintenance software is preferred.
- Must be able to obtain an industrial powered forklift certification.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
