Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled School Nutrition Specialist to join our team at Dinwiddie County Public Schools. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving meals to our students in accordance with our weekly menus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve meals in accordance with weekly menus
  • Operate food service equipment, including ovens, mixers, and dishwashers
  • Wash dishes, trays, and food preparation equipment
  • Clean work surfaces, eating areas, and food preparation areas
  • Receive and stock food supplies
  • Maintain sanitary conditions and remove trash
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the School Nutrition Manager
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimal experience in food preparation services or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to work long hours while standing and under high temperature conditions
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and associates
Working Conditions

This position requires regular exertion of up to 10 pounds of force, frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force, and occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force. Work regularly requires standing, walking, speaking, or hearing, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and tasting or smelling. Frequently requires reaching with hands and arms and repetitive motions. Occasionally requires sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, pushing or pulling, and lifting.
