Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Goshen Health. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for administering a full range of respiratory therapy treatments and modalities, monitoring life support devices, and performing selected cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing as prescribed by the attending physician.

Responsibilities
  • Administer respiratory therapy treatments and modalities, including ventilator and NIV management, pulmonary medication delivery, arterial blood gas draws/analysis, and oxygen therapy.
  • Monitor life support devices and perform selected cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing as prescribed by the attending physician.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team approach in critical and acute care settings.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all data, procedures, records, forms, reports, and any other sensitive information regarding a patient's medical condition or treatment.
  • Take an active role in self-improvement relative to continuing education and in-service attendance.
  • Properly perform all of the respiratory care therapeutic procedures listed on the department's scope of services.
  • Properly and effectively administer emergency respiratory care procedures.
  • Administer critical care procedures according to approved procedures.
  • Properly perform 12-lead electrocardiograms.
  • Participate actively in the department's performance improvement efforts.
  • Participate in the orientation of new employees.
  • Reacts to change positively and handles other tasks as assigned.
  • Maintains open lines of communication with other workers.
  • Maintains excellent public relations in all verbal and written communications with patients, their families, and physician.
  • Documents patient treatment data in department records.
  • Takes an active role in the education and professional development of the department staff.
Requirements
  • Registered as a Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Licensed by the State of Indiana Health Professional Bureau to perform respiratory therapy duties.
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Certifications Required: ACLS/BLS, PALS, NRP RRT.
