We are seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to join our team at Prisma Health. As a key member of our Sports Medicine department, you will be responsible for providing athletic training services to athletes at appointed high schools and other assigned sites.
Key Responsibilities- Provide athletic training services to athletes, utilizing sound and up-to-date clinical techniques to assess and treat injuries.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, considering the athlete's condition, age, education level, and cultural background.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, rehab staff, parents, athletic directors, coaches, and strength coaches to ensure seamless care.
- Document athlete status in designated EMRs and provide timely payroll information.
- Supervise and mentor new team members, Graduate Assistants, and students.
- Represent the organization at outreach events and attend coaches/parent meetings as available.
- Provide athletic training services at sponsored sporting events and supplement hospital staffing as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with policies regarding healthcare delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Athletic Training, or Physical Education with an emphasis on Athletic Training.
- South Carolina DHEC Athletic Training Certificate required.
- Knowledge of office equipment, data entry, and mathematical skills.
- Ability to think critically and make independent decisions regarding assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play decisions.
